2004
Testing Nitrous Engines, continued refining tests of various high altitude deployment systems (link to research), helping out with aerospike motor test made 2004 a busy year.
Prefect duties at Frontier Rocketry and trying to hold onto the field took more time than I would have liked, research into Rockoon launches, but little in the way of nifty videos.
NOTE: Check update at www.spacewarptechnology.com. Raptor III has been found and returned to me by Rich Wiley - (Thank you Richard).
Raptor III flew successfully. The motor malfunction threw the rocket off course. From calculations done, chute deployment had to occur at close to mach. The chute was shredded at ended up a glorified streamer. This and the rockets light weight (less than 10 pounds) resulted in a landing that left the rocket in tack. Unfortunately, two very cold Maine winters, snow and rain destroyed the electronics. No data could be salvaged.
